The Lord Answers Prayer (The 11th Hour Miracle)
2 kings 19:14-20, Judges 16: 28-30, 2 Kings 6: 17-20, Nehemiah 9:27,
2 Samuel 1: 16-17 & 23-25, Luke 1:13
In this sermon, it is required that in order to key into the last part of the prophetic declaration, you need to write a love letter to God. In this letter, write impossible thing(s), that only God can do for you.
Prayer is a two-way communication between God and man. Man speaks and God answers (Job 22:27, Matthew 7:8). However, it is wise to ask in accordance to His Will, which is the Word (1 John 5:14), giving Him praise in thanksgiving for His mighty works (Psalm 66:1-5, 1Thessalonians 5:18, Philippians 4:6). Many people are not blessed because the devil is not stupid.
The bible speaking in the book of Luke 16:8, “And the Lord commended the unjust steward, because he has done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light”. Jesus referred to Satan as the ruler of the world in John 12:31, masquerading as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). If the children of the world are wise, how can the ruler of the world be stupid? Nevertheless, Satan masquerading as an angel of light, does not make him light unto the world. The bible in Proverbs 4:18 makes it clear that “the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. We, the Children of God are the light because in “Christ was life; and the life was the light of men. And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” (John 1:4-5). So therefore, understand that as Children of God, we have dominion over the devil (Psalm 8:6); for we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6); far above the devil, principalities and power (Ephesians 1:21).
Many have waited on the Lord for answers, felt sorrowful, heart wearied, some say when shall it be my turn, others say can it be possible, some think God has forsaken them, some don’t think they can make it, others think of themselves as caged and many think powers of darkness have overtaken them because they cannot locate their divine helpers. You may have done so much and yet it looks as if the world is mocking you. Even the Pastors pass through so much including: temptations and trials; and yet miracles are happening because the Lord answers prayers. The Lord is fully aware that “hope deferred makes the heart sick: but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life” (Proverbs 13:12). Therefore, be careful to be patient while exercising endurance in wait of the Lord. For “the Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
God calls whosoever he desires to and as the Caller, He is able to sustain the called (1 Kings 17:3-4); as He also blesses whosoever he wants to bless (Romans 9:15-16) and gathers whosoever He wants to gather (John 6:44).
The Lord is able to position you for your blessing. The woman having an issue of blood twelve years in Luke 8:43-48, although the bible did not record it, must have been smelling and due to loss of blood she must have been Anaemic; yet God sustained and positioned her for healing (Luke 8:44,48). The miracle was Heavenly orchestrated. Jesus only sealed the miraculous healing (Luke 8:48). The miracle started the day she conceived in her heart that touching the hem of Jesus’ garment would make her whole; and God gave her strength, perseverance and faith (confidence).
God answers prayers! People can come to Church so many times in search of a miracle but the ones God wants to bless, He puts them in the place of the blessing. Some of our miracles are divinely delayed, that God be praised (John 9:1-3); when it is time for your miracle, you will no longer be the same. Be also careful, for when the miracle is near, there would be so much obstacles. Peter responding to Jesus in the later part of Luke 8:45, says “Master, the people are crowding and pushing against You!” The woman with the issue of blood had to summon courage to go through the crowd to get to Jesus. How then can we say that the Lord does not answer prayers?
Much of our obstacles today is lack of money. When people don’t have money, they tend to tell lies to cover the truth, some do not even think of the consequences. The bible speaking in Revelation 21:8 makes it clear that “all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”. There are many barriers in the way of miracle. In the day God wants to bless you, He does not remove the hurdle. God can give you the miracle but it is your choice to move to the place of your miracle.
God is able to do many things for us, there is no problem He cannot solve, but some of us cannot remove the obstacle to have their miracle. Miracle is not salvation, but a supernatural event that cannot be explained by natural or scientific law. It is a miracle for you to be in Church. The bible makes it clear that God sets the members (1 Corinthians 12:18, John 6:44). If it was Satan, you should never be in the presence of God; he can make sure that you have so much genuine excuses to not be present. So, when you are in Church, be thankful of the privilege. The second miracle is the fact we can seat in Church safely and finally, God granting us the entrance of His worship. We are able to thank Him, praise Him in dancing, singing and spoken words. It is better to be in the sanctuary than the mortuary because the dead do not praise Him. God is able to give you wealth without sorrow (Proverbs 10:22) and able to provide all that which you need without an attachment (Philippians 4:19). He can bless you without credentials. I know a Pastor that out of no where he was receiving money from abroad, from an unknown sponsor.
The Lord answers prayers. Many years ago, my daughter wanted a bubble gum machine, when she approached me, I told her to ask God and if God gives her then she can have it. She knelt down and began to pray. In a short while, a family friend abroad who has never met her in person, sent her a bubble gum machine. After I gave the testimony, I too got a bigger bubble gum machine. I never asked for it, but I testified and the God of double wonder (Psalms 72:18, Isaiah 61:7) made it possible that I too partake. How many testimonies have you share to encourage another person? The bible in Revelation 12:11 makes it clear that by the words of our testimony we overcame. The Lord is so much more able to your needs according to His riches in Glory (Philippians 4:19). His provision can come without asking, only when you believe He can do it (Hebrew 11:1), because before the time of manifestation can be filled with doubts (Genesis 18:12). In the realms of the spirit, doubt or disbelieve is a limitation because it’s an act of mistrust and unfaithful to God (Psalms 78:8) and it can hinder your God sent angel of rescue (Exodus 23:20-21).
My prayer for you is that God shall answer your prayers in Jesus name, Amen. Be vigilant to not weary in doubts (Romans 4:20); but instead keep advancing in the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33) because when you do not loose heart, you will reap in due season (Galatians 6:9). The common one we do not take seriously is giving. The bible speaking in Luke 6:38, that when you give, it shall be given unto you. We want to be blessed without paying the price. When my laptop crashed, some billionaires came together, put money together in bits and bought me a newer laptop. It is not as if one person cannot buy it, but they understood the power of giving and made sure each person contributed in order to partake of the blessings; most of them I have never seen but they came together.
Out of sufficiency of God, people I don’t know have sown seed into my life (Philippians 4:19). Sometime ago, I traveled and went about visiting different Churches, while I was there, I started sowing seed to the extent I was running out of cash; I had to call someone that owed me to send me more money. I was praying earnestly and sowing continuously because I was seeing the results. I got so much money from both the person owing me and other people that knew me. I have proved God, everything I own has been God, you cannot out give God, Who gives generously without blame or condemnation (James 1:5). I was praying and thinking about a new Car and God opened my eyes to His word in Deuteronomy 18:2, it says “they (Levites) shall have no inheritance among their countrymen; the Lord is their inheritance as He promised”. The Pastors need not to be beggars, for the Lord will supply their needs according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Every Pastor’s inheritance is from God. I went to pray for someone at the hospital, she could not breathe properly, I told God before I got there that if He is the God that answers prayer, I want to see instant miracle. I got there and so it was instantaneously, she started breathing okay.
God answers prayers. I know of a woman that died. Pastors gathered to pray with the husband hoping she will come back to life. When she did, she asked her husband that if he loves her, he said yes. She then told him that God will grant him the power to take care of the children; that if he truly loves her, he should let go for where she was, she cannot come back again. Heaven is one place a righteous goes and it’s difficult to come back. The Glory is spectacular. There is nothing you want that prayer cannot do.
You can go to the President for help, the first thing is to be thankful he granted you audience and promise to fulfil that which you have come for; maybe the President after promising you will say be patient a little while. Even at this level, many will murmur and speak bad of the one who has promised to help them without reason but impatience. That is how ungrateful we can be before God. Some will leave His presence to see how a lesser power can help them. God is not happy when we have others before Him (Romans 1:25-26, Exodus 20:3). When you seek others and not God, He removes His hands. Sometimes God wants to help us but we backslide, at the point of our breakthrough; this point is when Satan strikes the most.
Jesus fasted for forty days and nights; but the very moment he was hungry, the bible said the tempter came to Him (Matthew 4:2-3). When you let loose the tempter comes in. Have you been frustrated at that which you asked of the Lord? Does it look as if God has paid you a deaf ear? Today, ask God to forgive you and open up your mouth once again. Bible makes it clear that we should be praying without ceasing and to give thanks, believing that God has done unto us that which we asked for (1 Thessalians 5:17-18, Philippians 4:6), He will answer us. We ought to keep asking (and not faint: 2 Corinthians 4:16), for everyone who keeps on asking receives (Matthew 7:8).
God has answered many prayers, your own cannot be cut off. The bible speaking in Proverbs 23:18, “Surely there is a future and your hope and expectation will not be cut off.” I was once praying for a dead child and I told God that if only the child wakes up, I will serve with my all, by becoming a fulltime Pastor and stop working. Then, I started having doubts such as, the thoughts of how will I feed, what will I tell my wife, how will I explain to other people and more. I was in between whether I should resign or not, my mind was in doubt. The child was behaving like she would wake up but my heart was deceiving me. I could not take a stand for God. The same decision I could not take, I took years later. If you take a stand with God, no matter how your situation is, the Lord will hear you. You need to change your way of thinking, the myopic and scientific way of thinking and start thinking supernatural. When Joseph was thrown into the well without water (Genesis 37:24), the force of gravity was suspended for him. When Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego were thrown into the blazing fire, they became fire prove (Daniel 3:23-25).
Absolutely nothing is a challenge to God because all things are submissive to Him (Colossians 1:16-17). So, forget about that demon, those principalities and powers, for the one that makes you complete is the Head of Principalities and Powers (Colossians 2:10). Just because the messenger sent to you has not arrived, does not mean that you should challenge God (Daniel 10:13). Your attitude towards your prayer can stop the manifestation of your prayer (Romans 1:28). How do you think God feels with your attitude towards Him? Can you in your heart say that God is happy with you? If you don’t feel confidence in your answer, then learn to live righteously. Righteousness guarantees access to the things of God and helps you build faith (Romans 1:17). For without faith you cannot receive from God; faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
When you have prayed a prayer, do not weary, for in due season you shall reap if you do not loose heart (Galatians 6:9). The bible speaking in Romans 4:20, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.” When you have prayed, begin to give glory to God, thank Him, for that is His will in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your requests known to God (Philippians 4:6). Through thanksgiving, we remind God of our prayers. God answers prayers. If as sinful by nature as we are, know how to give good gifts to our children, how much more will our Father who is in Heaven (Matthew 7:11). Remember in all, everything works out for good for them that love God (Romans 8:28); and the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18). How can you believe God has not heard you? Your attitude towards your prayer can stop the manifestation.
Your prayer can also be delayed because of misplacement of priority. Maybe your angel is waiting for you at the Church and that day you decided not to come because of one thing or the other. Maybe that day you gave your time to be at the wrong place. That is why we must ask God to direct and preserve our going out and coming in for evermore (Psalm 121:8). So, we are not at the right place at the wrong time: Misplacement of priority.
I know of a prostitute that genuinely repented in the early 80s. She was asking God to bless her and grant her a job. For months she did not have any job, everything looked upside down, even body cream she does not have. A day came that one of her customers came with about N36,000. At this time, such an amount was very big. Today N36,000 would be worth millions. As she was getting ready, the Holy Spirit ministered to her not to go. It was a battle, she saw it as an opportunity comes once. She got ready but when she approached the man, she refused to go with him. She told the man she had repented and her spirit does not appeal to those kinds of behaviors anymore. She returned the money, and the man told her she will remain poor, that poverty was for her. She knew she needed money and yet stayed faithful to God. She cried and in pain. After three months, she got a job with an oil company that paid her N95,000. The surprising thing is that she never applied for the job. The job took her around and she also got allowance. She had so much and enough for a car and house. God answers prayers, wait for your prayer to be answered. God is your Father, not man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). He will always be on time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Know that from the day you prayed, He heard you. Just wait for the manifestation. His word never goes void (Matthew 24:35).
The Lord spoke to me that my inheritance is not from man but Him (Acts 28:18, Numbers 18:24). Do not look up to a man, but Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). It takes the hand of God to do good or for someone to give you something (Ephesians 3:19-20). Make sure even as you receive that those things which you receive are not able to stand against you in judgement. You cannot be praying for prosperity and be collecting bribe. Bribery can bring sorrow at the end. Follow God who is the one able to make rich without sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).
A day came in my house, I had nothing left. I was in my last meal. “A man stopped at my house, stepped out of his convoy and told me God sent him to give me money”. That was the day I began to fear God the more. He told me that he never used to hear God but he heard the voice of God. God knows when we are in a difficult situation and knows how to answer us. Our problem is that we used to have someone in mind. God whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (Exodus 34:14). He does not like when His people are dependent on men and not Him (Romans 1:25-26, Exodus 34:14). We must be careful less we fall victims. Don’t tell God who to use, we are not to choose our divine helper. He can use the inconsequential. All you need to do is righteously ask, believe, be thankful and wait for God to manifest those things, while you remain in righteousness (Philippians 4:6, Romans 1:17, Mathew 7:8). God answers prayers.
Quick Prayer: In any way you have found yourself unworthy, should in case you asked and disbelieved, or you have lived an unrighteous life. Pray now, ask God to forgive you and revisit you. Sincerely tell Him how sorry and unworthy you have been, tell Him you will never doubt Him. Ask because He that asks, receives (Matthew 7:8). Ask God for the Spirit of Perseverance just like the woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:43-48), ask for the Spirit to wait and not be discouraged. Ask God to empower you to press on and not grow weary in faith (Galatians 6:9). That by this prayer, let all your misery be gone and God shall answer all your prayers, in Jesus name Amen.
- Let go of that person you have in mind to help you and ask God to bring your divine helper.
- Luke 1:37, “For with God nothing shall be impossible”. As children of God, bareness of any kind, whether child, financials bareness, joblessness; none is our portion for everything works out for good for them that love Christ (Romans 8:28). Begin to command whatever you need to come to you; for you shall decree a thing and it shall come to pass (Job 22:28).
In the name of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Do not be discouraged.
The bible speaking in 2 Kings 19:14-20, “And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth. Lord, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, Lord, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God. Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands, And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them. Now therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the Lord God, even thou only. Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria I have heard.”
Bring out your letter before God. We would follow the instructions of Hezekiah according to the scripture above (The letter here is the same one you have written as instructed in the Note! above. If you have not written yours, read the instruction before the beginning of the sermon: write your love letter to God with impossible request(s) and then proceed).
Before the prayer below, should in case you are not born again or you want to return to Christ. Say! Lord Jesus I come before you a sinner, I believe You died for me and resurrected on the third day, I repent of all my sins, forgive me and cancel my name from the book of death and write it in the book of life. Thank you for saving me in Jesus name, Amen. Now Pray!
According to that which Hezekiah did, we are following the same process to ascertain the same result.
Hezekiah first praised God. “O Lord God of Israel, who is enthroned above the cherubim, You are God, You alone, of all kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth” (2 Kings 19:15). Begin by Praising God, tell Him how beautiful and Kind He is. Thank Him for other people, family and friends, for salvation and redemption in Christ (Matthew 6:33). Thank Him for Life and appreciate Him for everything must work out for your own good (Romans 8:28). Thank Him for He is not man to lie (Numbers 23:19) and His word (the bible) will never be void (Matthew 24:35). Appreciate Him.
Hezekiah asked God to hear and open His eyes to the Letter (2 Kings 19:16). Ask God to hear the words you have written in your letter and open His eyes to your requests.
Hezekiah speaking in verse 17-19 “Is it true….”. The bible also speaking in Isaiah 1:18, “come now, let us reason together, says the Lord”. Now proceed and read your letter to God. Hezekiah went to God because He has the final Say.
Tell Him why He should answer you, tell Him how you have suffered. Beseech Him to save you that the kingdoms of the earth may know that He is God (2 Kings 19:19).
In 2 Kings 19:20, the Lord answered Hezekiah (At this point, give an offering of thanksgiving to God for answering your prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Judges 16:28-30, “And Samson called unto the Lord, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the Lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
Samson prayed to God to remember him AGAIN, that means God forgot him. As long as you have repented with the purity of heart, the Lord has remembered you (Psalm 112:6, Proverbs 18:10). He asked God to strengthen him one more time that he might fulfil his purpose in vengeance against the Philistines and die with them. In accordance to his word (confession brings possession: Job 22:28), God granted unto him and he killed more people that he has ever killed in his life time. God answers prayer.
The Lord God Almighty will answer you.
2 Kings 6:17-20, “And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the Lord, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria. And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, Lord , open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the Lord opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.”
As Elisha prayed, you can ask God to open your eyes to see how your prayers would be answered. The Lord God Almighty answered Elisha: opened the eyes of his servants and blinded the Arameans. Elisha went up to Arameans and told them they were in the wrong place. He made them follow him into Samaria, then asked God to open their eyes and God opened their eyes as they discovered they were in the midst of Samaria.
Lord lead my enemies into the midst of their problems, lock them up for their own destruction and with their eyes they shall watch their ruin, in Jesus name Amen!
